Author of the science fiction stories "The Genocides", "Camp Concentration" and "334" as well as "The Castle of Indolence: On Poetry, Poets and Poetasters" (for which he was nominated for the National Book Critics Circle Award for Criticism in 1995) and "The Dreams Our Stuff is Made Off" (for which he won the Nonfiction Hugo Award in 1999)
